Star Chamber Best of Award Nominations
The Star Chamber of Commerce is looking for the best of the best. We are accepting nominations for the following awards. You are welcome to submit one nomination per award.
Nomination Guidelines
The Star Chamber of Commerce is looking for a new business of the year. The New Business of the Year Award recognizes a Chamber member business that has demonstrated a commitment to Community Service, Business Innovation and Excellence, Investment in Employees, and Business Improvement and Growth.
- Nominee must be an active business located or operating in Star, Idaho.
- Nominee must be a member in good standing with the Star Chamber of Commerce.
- Nominee must have been in business for at least 2 years.
- Nominee must have demonstrated one or more of the following characteristics:
- Exceptional growth through additional creation of jobs
- Revenue growth
- Innovative products or services
- Provides exemplary customer service
- Volunteers in the Star community
- Demonstrates economic support of the Star area business community
- The Chamber reserves the right to request two letters of reference from a third party. The nominee may furnish one of these letters if they did not submit the original nomination form.
The Star Chamber of Commerce is looking for BUSINESS OF THE YEAR. The Business of the Year Award recognizes a Chamber member business that has demonstrated a commitment to Community Service, Business Innovation and Excellence, Investment in Employees, and Business Improvement and Growth.
- Nominee must be an active business located or operating in Star, Idaho.
- Nominee must be a member in good standing with the Star Chamber of Commerce.
- Nominee must have been in business for at least 5 years.
- Nominee must have demonstrated one or more of the following characteristics:
- Exceptional growth through additional creation of jobs
- Revenue growth
- Innovative products or services
- Provides exemplary customer service
- Volunteers in the Star community
- Demonstrates economic support of the Star area business community
- The Chamber reserves the right to request two letters of reference from a third party. The nominee may furnish one of these letters if they did not submit the original nomination form.
The Star Chamber of Commerce is looking for Star citizens for Volunteer of the Year Award is an honor that will be presented by Star Chamber to recognize a member who, through example and accomplishment, provided outstanding volunteer service to his or her community during the past year.
- The nominee must be a member in good standing of the Star community and must be living at the time of nomination and selection.
- The most important elements in selecting the Volunteer of the Year are his or her contributions to the local community in keeping with the organization’s commitment to community and compassion.
- Only one winner will be selected. There will be no ties. The award can be won only once by an individual.
All selections are made without regard to race, color, creed, age or national origin.
The Star Chamber of Commerce Student of the Year Award is being established to recognize and honor an outstanding student boy and girl who exhibits the qualities of exemplary citizenship, scholarship, outstanding community service, and leadership to Eagle High School and the larger community. The award is in recognition of exceptional service to the school. The winner must be an all-around student, excelling in all endeavors inside and outside of the classroom. Any faculty, staff, student or administrator can nominate a student based on the criteria below:
- Participation in High School activities
- At least at 3.0 overall G.P.A.
- Volunteer work on/off campus
- Must be a Senior at Eagle High School
- Must be a resident of Star, ID
- Must have good citizenship

The Star Chamber of Commerce is looking for Star citizens who demonstrate a well-rounded and deep-rooted commitment to family and community. Nominees must be community volunteers with records of extensive and diverse participation in community service and civic involvement, aside from accomplishments directly related to the candidate’s employment.
- Candidate participates in activities that make a difference in the well-being of others.
- Candidate has exceptional ethical qualities and strives to improve and preserve the community.
- Candidate has shown support for the community over the year.
- Letter stating the candidate’s qualities for the award, written by the nominator
