NEW AFTER-HOURS MIXER Event!


Important Announcement

The Star Chamber of Commerce has some exciting news! Starting in October, we will be replacing the Monthly Membership Meetings with a business “After-Hours Mixer” event. This event will be held at one of our chamber member’s business the third Thursday of each month at 5:30 p.m. (same date as Monthly Membership meeting but thirty minutes earlier). The After-Hours Mixer will be a great opportunity for hosts to share information about their business and grow their customer base. For guests, this is a great opportunity to support their fellow chamber members, stay connected, make new contacts, and build their network!

If you are wondering why the change, the Chamber Board of Directors decided to change the format of our evening event based on member feedback and member participation. One goal of the Board of Directors is to increase member participation and we believe reformatting the evening monthly event will help achieve that goal.

To make the After-Hours Mixer a success from every angle, we need commitments in advance from members to host the mixers. As a host, you will have an excellent opportunity to give others a first-hand look inside your business for an hour. This is a fun, inexpensive way to get people inside your business and highlight your products and/or services and your opportunity to tailor an event to fit your needs. All we ask is that you also provide an interactive experience for guests, light refreshments and food, and a prize (or two) for a business card drawing. The Chamber will promote your event on our website, Facebook page, send emails to our members and friends distribution list and include pre and post-event information and pictures in the ChamberTalk newsletter.

Do you have a home-based business and want to sponsor an After-Hours Mixer? Partnering with a brick-and-mortar business as a joint host is the answer! You could showcase a sample of your products at the event, give a demonstration, provide a prize, and share the expense of food and refreshments.
We are looking for commitments from business to host the following mixers:

· November 16, 2017
· January 18, 2018
· February 15, 2018
· March 15, 2018
· April 19, 2018
· May 17, 2018

The first After-Hours Mixer will be hosted by Legacy Wealth Management at Sully’s on October 19 at 5:30 pm. Thank you, Legacy Wealth Management for hosting our first After-Hours Mixer. We will be sending out invitations in October for this event and hope to see you there!

P.S. The Board of Directors decided not to hold the September General Business Meeting. We are using this time instead to develop this new After-Hours Mixer event. We apologize for the inconvenience if you were planning on attending the September meeting. Thank you for your understanding!
