I am Mike Olsen, Vice President 2 with the Star Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. I relocated to the Treasure Valley with my wife and 2 daughters in December of 2012, previously residing in a suburb of Seattle, and recently moved to Star. We discovered Eagle and Star several years ago and decided that this is where we wanted to continue to raise our children and enjoy life outside of a busy, congested, and heartless big city. We very much enjoy the community spirit and the cohesion of the local businesses here in Idaho.
I am a Star business owner, owning MQI Home Improvement LLC as well as Mike Olsen Photography. My professional background has been general business management with a focus on operations, process improvement, customer retention, and team development in several industries including
automotive and construction.
In addition to being a Board member of the Star Chamber of Commerce, I served on the Eagle Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, as well as the Eagle Historic Preservation Commission. I currently chair the City of Star Beautification and Pathways Committee, serve on the West Valley Little League Board of Directors, and coach girls’ softball. I have been a volunteer consumer arbitrator for 22 years with the Better Business Bureau as well.
My wife and daughters and I enjoy traveling and exploring the great outdoors. We love to visit places new to us and study the history or our surroundings. My passions in life are photography and any opportunity to help charitable organizations and our local business entities. My mantra is “Pay It Forward.”
I am excited to be part of this community and thank all of you for your trust in me to contribute to the Star Chamber of Commerce leadership team!
