STAR IDAHO March 2005
Recent developments in the City of Star have inspired a group of local business
leaders to form a collective business association. The Star Chamber of Commerce
became officially a federally recognized 501 (c) 3 organization as of January 2005.
The Star Chamber is new to the area but the officers have a proven business history.
The Treasurer Tammi Ryals is a CPA, owner Accounting and Tax Services LLC. The
Secretary Kathy Hicks manages an Independent Insurance Agency, Star Insurance. The
Second Vice President Philip McCune has several business activities in the area
including the Star Depot Moxie Java, The Ranch Makers, The Vine Makers. First Vice
President Dr. Kasy Lewis has Team Lewis Chiropractic, and the President Julia
Fenwick has three separate Insurance Agencies. This group is charismatic and
inspirational to the business community.
In January, the Mule Days Committee and the City of Star proposed to the new Star
Chamber the opportunity to coordinate the annual Star Mule Days activity. After
careful consideration, the Chamber agreed to the terms negotiated and the Star
Chamber of Commerce has made dramatic steps to accommodate the popular voice of the
citizens of Star with regards to the Mule Days event.
Star Mule Days and Community Fair will now be held the first weekend in June . This
year that means Saturday June 04, and Sunday June 05. The Chamber is attempting to
maintain the Mule activity as well as provide additional draw for the citizens of
Star and the surrounding communities.
