Event date(s): 5/17/2008
| The event will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2008 from 1 - 4 p.m. We will be having a presentation by Allied waste on recycling. They have a separate program for adults and children. While the adults are hearing one presentation, the children will be hearing another short presentation on recycling. What we have planned for each child after the presentation is to construct a "robot" out of recycled materials that we have collected during the previous week. They will be able to take this robot home with them.
Attendees will have the opportunity to take home a blue recycle bin to begin recycling curbside, if they do not already participate in the program. We will have Shred-it here as well. They will also be bringing their Shred- it mobile truck. We will be encourage the entire community to bring items that they would like to have shred. They can shred almost anything to include: include, CD's, x-rays, videos, DVD's, fabric, electronics to metals, documents with paper clips, staples, or plastic binding, cardboard and clipboards. Also in the parking lot we are going to have bins from the ARC to collect and recycle, used clothing and small household items.
